First Lady Betty Ford put a courageous new face on recovery in 1978 when she openly sought treatment for addiction to prescription medications and alcohol. Her candor created a national dialogue and unlocked the door to recovery, especially for women. In 1982, that door opened even wider when she co-founded the Betty Ford Center. Then, in 2014, the Betty Ford Center merged with the Hazelden Foundation to become the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. Today it is the nation’s leading nonprofit addiction and mental health treatment provider. Join us November 11, 12, and 13 as we celebrate 40 years of the Betty Ford Center helping individuals and families find a new life in recovery.
